Is Remedy Kombucha organic?

Yes. We have the official stamp of approval from the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) Standard. This certification tells you we have met rigorous independent checks undertaken by one of the most respected and trusted standards in the world for organic production. We personally prefer to eat an organic diet, so are naturally committed to making a healthy kombucha from 100% certified organic ingredients.

 

What are the ‘bits’ in the kombucha?

Strands of the kombucha may appear in the bottle. These are signs of a natural, healthy and raw kombucha.

 

Does kombucha contain alcohol?

A trace amount of alcohol is produced during the natural fermentation process of making kombucha, as with many fermented foods and drinks. We thoroughly test each and every batch to ensure that this does not go above 0.5%. Similar levels of alcohol are found in fruit juices and soft drinks.

 

Can I drink kombucha if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

People, including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have been safely consuming fermented food and drinks for thousands of years. You should be aware that our kombucha contains a trace amount of alcohol (no more than 0.5%). It is a personal choice whether you consume fermented products throughout these periods. Alternatively, consult your healthcare professional.

 

Can children drink kombucha?

Our children, and many others we know, have grown up enjoying kombucha and many other types of fermented food and drink. Many people start by giving children small amounts. However, if you are concerned, seek the advice of a healthcare professional.

 

Is your drink pasteurised?

Our kombucha is raw and unpasteurised. This means that the kombucha is never heated, which ensures that the beneficial bacteria, probiotics and organic acids remain healthy and intact.

 

Is it safe to consume fermented products?

People from around the world have safely been consuming fermented food and drinks for thousands of years. In fact, you probably already consume lots of fermented products (cheese! yoghurt! bread!) and maybe don’t realise it. As our knowledge of the human gut – including its connection to physical and mental health – increases, it is becoming clear that fermented foods play a vital role in maintaining a healthy gut flora.

 

Does Remedy contain genetically modified ingredients?

No. Our products are, and always will be, 100% GMO-free.

 

How much sugar does Remedy have?

Not much. The raw sugar used to brew our kombucha is essential food for the culture however nearly all of this sugar is consumed during the fermentation process, leaving only 1 gram per 100ml. It’s important to look after your gut health and we believe a kombucha that is low in sugar (and high in live organic acids and healthy bacteria) will do just that. After the fermentation is complete, we sweeten the kombucha with a small amount of stevia and a naturally occurring nectar known as erythritol, both certified organic of course. Sarah Wilson, author and blogger behind I Quit Sugar, is one of many respected health and wellness experts who drinks and recommends Remedy.

 

What is stevia?

Stevia is a plant that belongs to the chrysanthemum family, which grows in Paragua and Brazil. It contains no fructose yet is 300 times sweeter than sugar. By adding a touch of stevia to our drink, it allows us to truly provide you with a ‘gut-friendly’ drink that tastes super delicious. We blend stevia with a naturally occurring nectar known as erythritol (commonly found in pears, watermelons, grapes and other fermented products like wine, cheese and soy sauce). Both stevia and erythritol have been used as natural sweeteners in many parts of the world for hundreds of years.

Can I buy Remedy in bulk?

We don’t sell direct from our factory however if you speak to your local store, most would be happy to sell Remedy to you by the case.
